From Pollenzo to Reggio Emilia: Discovering the Development and Promotion Process of a PreGel Product

Reggio Emilia – March 3, 2025. On February 27, PreGel had the pleasure of welcoming over 30 international students from the Master’s degree in Food Industry Management at the University of Pollenzo to its headquarters in Gavasseto (Reggio Emilia). The meeting provided a unique opportunity for the students to connect with the founder, Luciano Rabboni, and to learn about the entire process of developing a PreGel product, from its initial concept to the final creation, including promotion in gelaterias.
During the visit, the participants had the chance to explore in detail all the stages of development of the “Nature” project, a kit developed in collaboration with the “Nature” brand, which has been available in Italian newsstands for over 10 years, featuring a 3D collection dedicated to Arctic animals. The kit for gelato makers includes the following products: Nature Sprint®, Coriandolina Cioccobianco® and Blue Glitter for decorating the gelato tub, as well as the following bespoke marketing materials: Gadgets (166 Nature 3D animal figurines) to be given to young customers, the “Segnagusto”, cups, and themed posters. With the support of PreGel’s Marketing, Research & Development teams, and technicians, this experience was an in-depth learning opportunity that allowed students to understand not only the technical and production aspects but also those related to marketing and managing a license in the gelato sector. During the presentation of the various development stages, the students were able to witness the production of the gelato tub and taste the product.
For the third consecutive year, PreGel reaffirms its commitment to supporting the University of Pollenzo and the right to education for young aspiring gastronomes from all over the world. PreGel has always believed in young people and their talent, investing in their education to create a new generation of highly qualified gastronomic professionals.
The collaboration with the University of Pollenzo has further strengthened in recent years. On June 25, this year, the Annual Ceremony dedicated to the Supporters of the Scholarship Program will take place in Pollenzo, and PreGel will participate with great enthusiasm. This event is an opportunity for students awarded scholarships, coming from all over the world, to meet and share experiences with the companies and organizations that support the right to education.
PreGel is proud to be part of the main Italian companies in the agri-food sector that have signed an important initiative, asking the Italian government to include food education in school curricula at all levels. Being part of the Pollenzo network means collaborating with the University to envision new perspectives for the future of food, thanks to a shared vision and a constant commitment to enhancing gastronomic culture.
